100% Mechanical

Every L.J.G watch is mechanical—no batteries here.
While quartz (battery-powered) watches are cheaper, easier to mass produce, and more accurate, mechanical watches are powered by a spring, either wound by hand or by the motion of your wrist. They’re more intricate, have a quieter tick (ideal for sleeping), look better through an open caseback, and you’ll never need to replace a battery (though a service every few years is recommended).

Roimhe seo L.J.P

Formely L.J.P

Recently L.J.P Watch Design became L.J.G Watch Co. The rebrand was a necessary step in growing the brand. The switch from L.J.P to L.J.G was necessary as "La Joux-Perre" a large Swiss movement manufacturer also using the initials to abbreviate their name lead to confusion among some when they heard the name "L.J.P Watch Design". Along with this was the swapping of "Design" for "Co" providing the brand with a cleaner name.

The Stable

The Stable is a refined 38mm dress watch inspired by the elegance of a day at the races. Its sharp, no-bezel case takes cues from the Grand Seiko 62GS, giving the deep green sunburst dial a wide, open presence.
The dial keeps a classic, uncluttered look with no lume, while the hands include a subtle touch for low-light practicality. Powered by the reliable NH35 and built with sapphire crystal, 316L steel, a screw-down crown, and 100m water resistance, it’s durable yet refined. At 12.2mm, it’s our thinnest watch to date.

The story of the L.J.G Watch Co

I started the watch co back in the summer of 2025 at the age of 17 as the local Super value and Tescos felt they had enough inexperienced part time staff leading me to the thought of putting my horological skills to use. The watch co began simply with me designing and building four completely unbranded watches and simply selling them at Greystones market - initially I didn’t add branding to the watches to allow for an easier production I would rather explain this though to people as a “design philosophy”. I had high (naive) hopes to sell 4 watches for four hundred euro each on the first and only day at the market I had booked with the plan for the watch co to be a one off thing and not an actual business! eventually the one day I had booked at the market came and I sold one watch to a lovely gentleman who gifted the watch to his Wife. Although things did not go as I had hoped I still had three watches in stock so I decided to continue trying to sell them and thus leading to the watch co becoming an actual business.

A few days later I received an email from the Greystones Guide, Paul Byrne had offered me an interview, grateful for the opportunity I accepted; unbeknown the level of publicity the Watch Co was about to receive. After the interview I didn’t think much would be vastly different for the watch co but then I attended the market again, most people had heard about me though and I sold two watches! Then about a month or so later while taking the train into school, I received an email from a man living in US looking for a bespoke watch, my first International sale! A former Greystones resident who kept an eye on the town through the Greystones Guide instagram had heard about my little watch co and I in Ireland from all the way in America something I couldn’t rap my head around and still struggle to do so now. I then spent a few months working with the man on watch and togthere we created a outstandingly unique, bold, fun design but also being extremely beautiful with a design I’ve only come to love more and more by the day.

Since then I’ve created and sold one more watch that being the Stable but have really been focusing on two other bespoke watches for clients and gearing up behind the scenes for a big summer season.

Reviews

“A couple of months ago I picked up my 1:1 custom watch from L.J.P Watch Design. The watch was the results of endless back and forth as Lochlan took my vision for this unique piece to mark key moments in my journey. The watch called "The Miami" fits perfectly into my new home, and is constantly catching eyes. As watch lovers are questioning how they haven't seen something like this before. The watch spends most days on my wrist, with its subtle reminder to back home with the 3rd GMT hand. Lochlan's passion for watch making really brought this to life and I'd highly recommend working with him on your own 1 of one. “

“I met Lochlan at the Greystones market and had a great chat with him about his watches. He agreed to make a brand new watch for me and the process from start to finish was top class.
Very professional service and the end product was fantastic and custom made watch.
Would highly recommend him to anybody who is looking for a new watch“

We came across Lochlan's watches when he was showing them at a local craft fair. What was appealing to my wife and I about the watch that we eventually purchased were pretty much three things. Firstly, was a simple classic design without any 'bling' or gaudiness.
The case was a simple one, a good size for my wife and the dial and watch band all worked extremely well together to produce a watch that looked elegant, simple & very discrete. Secondly when he explained that he was sourcing components and fittings from very respected horology companies, this then gave us confidence in the durability of his watch. And thirdly, we were taken that the young man had shown such a passion in developing his expertise and skills in the wonderful craft of watch making. We wish him well and we are very pleased with the watch we now own.
